七七事变前，邓颖超因患病化名李知凡太太住进北平西山疗养院，与病友清华女生胡杏芬结下深厚友谊。卢沟桥事变后，李太太与住院病友积极募捐，慰劳二十九军抗敌负伤将士。不久，杏芬等人远走陪都重庆，李太太则来到战时中的武汉，从事抢救难童等抗日救亡运动。两年后，杏芬与地下党负责人郝君在重庆见到日夜思念的李太太，方知她是周恩来的夫人邓大姐，崇拜之情油然而生。周恩来把杏芬安排在苏联驻华使馆工作，一度对现实丧失信心的杏芬重新鼓起了生活的勇气。郝君突然与他人结婚，杏芬脆弱的神经受到致命打击……。杀人之人讲述了性格孤僻的Ken Boyd 密谋杀害导致他糟糕生活的人的故事。故事有惊有喜，两个警察比较搞笑。。Two Belgian brass bands compete for the European title.
