总纲公元1895年，日清战争，清朝战败，一纸绝情的「马关条约」把台湾送进被殖民大半世纪的日治时代，民间纷纷反弹，义勇军此起彼落反抗。一艘载着首任台湾总督的「横滨丸」号，在澳底登陆准备接收台湾，却因此掀起一场腥风血雨，更为台湾第一个女医生丘雅信(叶欢饰演)的一生，揭开序页… 雅信的祖父林雅堂，因资助农民抗日被捕，命在旦夕，在众人建议下，雅信父亲林之干不辞劳苦，从新竹徒步赶至淡水，向备受日本总督敬重的马偕牧师求救。他的孝心不但救回父亲性命，更与基隆仕绅许尚仁一家结缘，促成了他与许家小姐秀英的婚事，婚后陆续生下了雅信和妹妹雅足。 无奈好景不常，没几年之干因肺结核过世，生活所逼，秀英改嫁给五股地主丘元家。继父对聪明伶俐的雅信疼爱有加，把她当成掌上明珠极力栽培，不但送她进私塾学汉文，更让她进了台湾第一所女子学校「淡水女学堂」就读，启蒙了雅信的求知欲和世界观。...。Visiting in England, famed American surgeon Doctor John Marlowe is decoyed to a middle European country, and discovers the operation he is to perform is on the Vosnian dictator.
