中学生田村裕（小池徹平饰）是一个脑瓜聪明、阳光乐观的少年，快乐的暑假即将开始，他原本要和喜欢的女孩相约看电影，但一场突如其来的变故改变了裕的生活。由于父亲的原因，裕的家庭负债累累，最终他们的房子被抵押没收，不负责任的父亲扔下一句“解散”便转身离开。为了不拖累哥哥彦一和姐姐幸子，裕谎称去同学家居住，随后来到附近的公园以此为家。他风餐露宿，食不果腹，夜晚睡在公园的滑梯上，白天四处游荡寻找食物。漫长的夏日仿佛没有尽头…… 本片根据田村裕的同名畅销小说改编，并荣获2009年日本电影金像奖年度新人奖（小池徹平）。。A traveling cellist gets involved with two disturbed sisters on their way to Seattle to tell their mom that their dad has just passed away.
